THE BASKETBALL LEAGUE


Through a Sports and Entertainment Promotions course at the University of Missouri Journalism School, I had the opportunity to work hands-on with a real client, The Basketball League (TBL). TBL is an upcoming professional basketball league owned by African-American woman Evelyn Magley.

The goal was to increase online fan engagement and overall brand presence for the league.

I created a few Instagram posts on an irregular basis and several Instagram Story polls on a regular basis, where users could interact and vote for their favorite teams on weekend games.

 

Unfortunately, my time working with TBL was cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic. The league cancelled the remainder of their games and programming and our professor decided it was best to shift the class to focus less on social media posting and more on other important sports and entertainment promotion skills.
